About the Production

"Making Spirits Bright" is an annual performance held at the Landmarks' Jeanne Rimsky Theatre every December. This concert is a longstanding tradition of Berest, spanning more than thirty years. It celebrates the enchanting world of dance, uniting performers from various ages and skill levels.

Act 1 Sets the stage ablaze with hope, love, and promise.
Act 2 Offers a glimpse into "Wonderland," complete with the whimsy of the White Rabbit, Alice and all the characters.
Act 3 Celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas, with Santa himself enchanting both young and old. The lavish scenery and costumes render this production a cherished family tradition.

Each year, Olga Berest delights her audience with an intermission surprise: inviting dozens of boys and girls on stage to learn and perform the "Mice and Soldiers" duel from the Nutcracker. The performance unfolds as the audience watches in wonder.

Combining the art of gift-giving with performance is a hallmark of this festive production. Throughout its history, "Making Spirits Bright" has contributed hundreds of toys to families in need by members of the audience who are requested to bring an unwrapped gift.
